Editor's Verdict:

Welcoming us on SugarDaddyForMe, we are greeted with a modern animated page.  A flashing  banner with three messages featuring stylized graphics gains our attention.  They promote the usual Sugar Daddy stuff: young, beautiful, ambitious women willing to please; affluent, caring, generous mentors, who want to pamper and spoil someone special.  What looks like an immediate search option is offered front and center along with a member log-in option.  After entering our preferred match and clicking on the 'find match' button,  instead of seeing members' listings, we are faced with a registration page.

We entered our type as a sugar baby (male) seeking a sugar momma. We were informed in the text accompanying the graphics that we "deserve to be treated like a Princess by a rich successful .....etc."  The ironic humor was not wasted on us.  They obviously need to adjust the choices of wording  there.  So in the spirit of things we adjusted ourselves by entering the more typical search of female sugar babe looking for her sugar daddy.

We signed up as a Standard member foregoing the free-three day trial.  We entered some simple initial search parameters  and  got  over 220  local results, (although we noticed some duplicate listings).   We couldn't specify a couple of other typical choices in our intial search parameters.  When we got to listings page however, the layout had an area set off  in the margin (very handy)  where we were offered additional search specifics of race, income level, marital status and body type.  We think this is a subtle but very worthwhile little difference maker here. SugarDaddyForMe is the first site  we've seen to take this approach and frankly, it makes the world of sense.   First, we get a result and then assuming we're browsing an over-abundance of listings we may wish to refine the search somewhat.  With this tool handy it's a snap and we can conveniently refine one step at a time and really tailor the search to a narrow enough level  while keeping the member count in a desirable range.  Great search engine refinement and design in action here - useful and conveniently located.
 
One thing we noticed is that the guys' stories and desires didn't have the typical sugar daddy connotation. A significant number seemed to be looking for an extra-marital or  'girlfriend on the side'  relationship.   Lots of mentions of 'discreet wild times'  and  'fun 24/7 party animal wanted'.  We didn't see too many statements alluding to the "benefits offered"  to the ladies.  The listings seem more geared for a discreet relationship approach rather than a wealthy Sugar Daddy site.  

About one quarter of the listings had photos, with the photo quality being good but the size of the photos in the listings was small.   The listing contained the type of relationship wanted, with members age, location, last log-in date,  and a brief   'looking for ......"  statement.  

Design and layout was clean and logical.  When we clicked the photo we were brought to the member's profile page.  There's space allocated for up to 8 photos here.  The main listing photo was slightly enlarged  (a greater enlargement would have been nice).   Member info.  like marital status, income level, height, body type, and age range sought with space alloted for ' about me' member info. and 'what I'm looking for' details were covered.   Overall,  a very good job done by the site giving a Standard member a real feel for what is offered  and a sense of  what the general membership is about.

We found the navigation at SugarDaddyForMe simple, but not as intuitive as some other sites.  The overall navigation design is from the last generation technically.  It's a bit outdated but not problematic.  Menus offered sufficient enough choices without over-doing it.   There is some advertising content here without it being intrusive.  The biggest problem we see visually on the site occurs at log-in on the home page.  There is a  flashing safety yellow warning to alert members of the dangers of wiring money to Ghana etc.  While some type of warning  may be necessary, we think it can be toned down somewhat and still be effective.  There is a check box below the graphic that allows you to switch it off. Thank you for that  useful option.

Our overall impression of the site is that it's a very good site  It's a good place to investigate an unconventional relationship, but may not be the best place for finding a significant number of true sugar daddies.  With that said, we think the three day trial membership would be a worthwhile way to check it out.   But you must be careful of the auto renewal  terms.  Be sure to read and fully understand the cancellation terms.   We're not big fans of  the auto renewal  approach and wish more sites would abandon the practice.  

Value is a difficult  thing to measure here. We think the Premium memberships, Silver ($19.95)  and Gold ($24.99), purchased without contact access are a waste (see site for the details of add-ons).  We are reluctant to comment except to say that on an individual basis if after a trial you are satisfied, the site perhaps warrants the fees (just be sure to watch out for the traps of extras and auto-renewals). SugarDaddyForMe does a number of things well,  but with the fee structure, it's a fair to poor value for money.  While their prices are comparable with the very best of wealthy dating sites, they don't offer comparable services.  Lack of member photos and photo sizing being one area of particular weakness.   A Standard  membership  to get familiar with the site, followed by  the free trial to avail of the additional contactability features, may be the best approach here.
