SugarSugar.com is an online dating site that aims to connect those looking for financial support and stability, with those looking for a good time. The site is free to join and operates a “token” based payment system, which means instead of having to pay a monthly flat fee for site membership (as with most subscription sites in this category) users can spend their tokens as they wish, meaning their money will, more often than not, go further.

Members of SugarSugar can tap into a range of features that are ideally suited for users in this market. This, combined with a simple user interface, makes this site a good option for those who are looking for a relaxed approach to wealthy dating. 

As you would expect, SugarSugar is set up with its user-base in mind. The easy-to-use search function makes it easy to find a sugar baby or sugar daddy in your area, while the site’s search criteria make it straightforward to filter search results to find potential matches. Users can create their own profile complete with as many pictures as they wish – perfect for letting others know what you have to offer.

We were also impressed with the SugarShop, which allows users to benefit from their activity on the site in very tangible ways. Members earn sugar points for every message they send and every time they log in to the site, and these points can be exchanged for gifts (such as gift certificates for stores such as Apple and Coach) which can be given to other members. 

As we mentioned above, this site operates a token-based payment system. Users sign up to the site for free and can make use of many of the site’s features without having to spend a penny.  

In order to be able to access all of the site’s features and contact other users, members are required to purchase tokens. SugarSugar Tokens are available in silver, gold and platinum packages (giving users 100, 300 and 1000 tokens respectively) meaning you can decide how much to spend (at least initially) on membership of SugarSugar.

Once you have purchased tokens, each activity you will undertake is charged based on a set number of tokens. While we can certainly see the appeal of a system like this, there isn’t a great deal of transparency before you join the site as to how many tokens each site activity (such as contacting other users) will cost and, as such, it’s not as easy to estimate how much this site will cost in advance as it is with other services. 

While we enjoyed using SugarSugar, its membership base isn’t quite as large as that of other sites we have reviewed and we have to admit that it’s hard to estimate how much membership will cost (although it’s very much in the hands of the user, as members choose who they interact with and therefore make active decisions as to ‘spending’ on the site).
